Eduardo Tous Granda

Eduardo Tous Granda holds a Doctorate in Commercial and Insurance Law from the Faculty of Law of the Complutense University of Madrid and is a member of the Illustrious Madrid Bar Association (Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid).

Throughout his professional career, he has devoted himself to commercial and corporate transactions, commercial litigation, and arbitration, and has presided over national and international arbitral tribunals. During this period, he also undertook a significant academic residency at Harvard Law School (United States) in order to further his research in Commercial and Insurance Law, delivering numerous papers at various international conferences.

In 2019, Eduardo defended his doctoral thesis in both Spanish and English, entitled “The Mutual Insurance Company in the 21st Century” (“La Mutua de Seguros en el Siglo XXI”), for which he was awarded the degree of Doctor with International Mention in Commercial Law, the grade of “Outstanding Cum Laude”, the prize of the Royal Spanish Academy of Doctors, and the Extraordinary Prize of the Faculty in Commercial Law.

His concurrent practice of Commercial Law and the expertise acquired during his doctoral studies led Eduardo to establish a law firm that would transcend traditional commercial legal advice, advocating a form of counsel that, in addition to meeting clients’ demands, would generate a positive impact on society and create value. Accordingly, in 2020, Eduardo founded SLA Legal Partners, with the principal aim of providing commercial legal advice in all its facets.

Furthermore, owing to the close ties he has maintained with academia since the preparation of his doctorate, he regularly publishes his research in specialised legal journals and collaborates as a lecturer at several nationally and internationally renowned universities.
