Richard Milone

Mr. Milone has represented policyholders in disputes against insurance companies for over thirty-two years, has been ranked in Chambers for twelve consecutive years. In 2022, he was invited to become a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Coverage Counsel, an honor based on peer review and afforded to less than 1% of lawyers in the field.

Mr. Milone has deep experience with all types of insurance claims, including Directors & Officers, General Liability, Professional Liability, Business Interruption, Errors & Omissions, Event Cancellation, Disability, and many others. He has successfully litigated many claims to conclusion, but he also has achieved consensual payments for countless clients through negotiations.

Mr. Milone was an associate and a partner in the law firm Howrey & Simon from 1991 to 2000; a founding partner in the law firm Gilbert Heintz & Randolph LLP (now Gilbert LLP) from 2001 to 2006; Chair of the Insurance Recovery Department of the New York based firm Kelley Drye from 2006 to 2015; and a partner in the international law firm Jones Day from 2015 to 2019; in 2020, he formed Milone Law Firm PLLC.

Mr. Milone graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1987, and from Georgetown University Law Center in 1990. He served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable John T. Nixon of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee for the 1990-91 term.
