Yousef S. Khalilieh

Yousef Khalilieh is a licensed commercial minded lawyer in private practice since 1995, Amman, Jordan. Extensive experience in corporate laws and contracts, government related projects, PPP projects, construction contracts, aviation, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, e-commerce, international trade, foreign investment, franchise and distributorship, intellectual property and litigation. Has a significant experience with a range of industry sectors, including privatization projects, renewable energy, traditional energy and resources, corporate transactions, general civil and construction contracts and sport laws. Able to communicate clearly and concisely with people of diverse background and levels of authority. Yousef Khalilieh has extensive experience advising clients across corporate, regulatory, and transactional matters in a wide range of sectors. He is the legal advisor to the Greek Orthodox Church and was involved in restructuring the bylaws and the working of the ecclesiastical court. He is also heavily involved in succession planning and family corporate governance work and well versed in the trust and foundation structures. His contribution led to the development of a new legal framework aligned with international IP standards, which remains in force today. He is also Head of the Appeals Disciplinary Committee, Jordan Football Association, in case we have some questions at the next World Cup!

In 1995, the Minister of Industry and Trade appointed him to the Jordanian Copyright Law Review Committee, which was entrusted with the review of the Jordanian Copyright Law and other IP related laws. From these efforts, a draft consistent with international standards later became the law, still in practice today.
