Joseph Ilunga

Joseph is founding Partner of Ilunga & Company and Senior Advocate with over eighteen years’ experience in corporate advisory services, commercial disputes and transaction advisory work on energy projects leading to financial close; employment and tax law both in private practice and as In- house Counsel. Joseph also leverages his expertise and experience to serve key players in energy and infrastructure transactions, including lenders, developers, contractors among others to promote consensus and agreement based on this broad experience. Prior to the formation of Ilunga & Company, he served as Deputy Head of the Legal Directorate at ZESCO Limited, Zambia’s largest state-owned vertically integrated power utility company

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Zambia. He has also attained various specialized sector specific training including Negotiating and Drafting of Power Purchase Agreements; Loan Documentation and use of FIDIC forms of contract in construction contracts; Building Bankable Solar PV Project-Power Purchase Agreements and Financial Modelling.
