Alexander Werner

Alexander Werner is a German-qualified attorney and Certified Specialist Lawyer for Transport and Freight Forwarding Law (Fachanwalt für Transport- und Speditionsrecht). He serves as Head of Transport & Maritime DACH at gunnercooke, advising domestic and international businesses on complex legal and commercial issues arising across transport, logistics and global supply chains.
Alexander supports freight forwarders, carriers, logistics providers, manufacturers, trading companies, insurers, investors and growth businesses. His work covers national and cross-border road, rail, air and sea transport, as well as multimodal logistics arrangements. He regularly advises on freight, forwarding and warehousing agreements; carrier and logistics liability; cargo claims; recourse matters; transport insurance-related disputes; supply-chain risk allocation; and distribution and commercial contracts.
A particular focus of his practice is the development of practical, commercially robust contractual solutions that allocate risk clearly and work effectively in day-to-day operations. He also represents clients in litigation, arbitration and out-of-court dispute resolution, including complex international claims involving multiple contractual parties, jurisdictions and insurers.
