Thomas Goldstein

Thomas Goldstein is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cogent Law Group. He has built a career spanning major law firms, government service, and entrepreneurial ventures. Before founding Cogent, Tom represented leading clients at Skadden, Arps in Washington, D.C., worked on legislative initiatives on Capitol Hill, and served as Managing Partner of the Washington, D.C. office of Perry, Krumsiek & Jack LLP.

A seasoned startup executive and angel investor, Tom also founded and led GroupMagellan Legal Search. Through thousands of candid conversations with clients and legal professionals, he gained a deep understanding of the structural inefficiencies in traditional law firm models — insights that shaped his vision for Cogent Law Group.

Under his leadership, Cogent has assembled a world-class team of senior attorneys with backgrounds in top law firms, government positions, and emerging industries such as technology and alternative currencies. Cogent delivers business-driven legal solutions with the sophistication of big law but without unnecessary overhead, providing clients with fast, efficient, and strategic counsel that drives measurable results.

Tom is not a practicing attorney. His focus is on firm leadership, strategic growth, and business development.
