Law firm Hill Dickinson is pleased to be recognised once again as a top tier law firm in the Asia-Pacific region for its expertise in maritime law, maintaining its Band 1 position in the latest Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific Guide 2023, issued 15 December.

The firm’s Singapore office is top tier ranked for Shipping Litigation – International and Band 2 ranked for Shipping Litigation – Asia-Pacific. The 2023 rankings are the thirteenth consecutive year in which the firm has been ranked.

The entry reads:

‘Hill Dickinson has a highly regarded shipping litigation practice with an experienced team of maritime lawyers in Singapore. The team is adept at handling a range of dry and wet shipping disputes, including vessel collisions, maritime salvage and casualties, as well as cargo claims, charter party disputes and ship arrests. The firm regularly acts for shipowners, charterers and P&I clubs, especially on cross-border matters […]. The group is also adept at handling arbitration.’

It goes on to acknowledge that ‘Hill Dickinson is an especially strong law firm for wet shipping disputes, offering a market-leading Singapore team alongside a well-established practice in China.’

Individual recognition is also given to partner and head of office Andrew Lee (a Band 1 Notable Practitioner) of whom it is noted that: “Andrew Lee’s analysis of legal issues is very astute and he is very commercial in shipping issues”; litigation partner Shanna Ghose (Up and Coming) who is “extremely diligent and great in terms of turnaround time”; and master mariner and partner Ian MacLean (Band 3) of whom clients say: “Ian is someone you want on your side in a casualty situation, where a forensic approach is required to test strategy and evidence.
