Mauricio Tavares is the Founding Partner of MT4 Intellectual Property in Brazil. Graduated in Marketing from ESPM and Law from Universidade Estácio de Sá, in Rio de Janeiro, he has been an Industrial Property Agent since 1996. He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, and during the years, he was an active member of Associação Brasileira da Propriedade Intelectual (ABPI); International Trademark Association (INTA), Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), and Association of Intellectual Property Firms (AIPF). Post-graduated in Digital Law, he is a former professor of Intellectual Property at Ibmec-RJ and Estação Business School in Curitiba. He has been recommended as one of the leading lawyers in the field by the international publications World Trademark Review, Who´s Who Legal, and Client Choice – Lexology. He works in the areas of trademarks, patents, software and copyright, franchising; technology transfer and technical service contracts, and domain names.
