Biography

The Firm was established in 1973 by Xenios L. Xenopoulos and offers a full range of legal services. The client base is European (East and West), Russian, American, Canadian, Chinese, South African and Middle East in scope, with a strong presence in the Emirates and the Gulf countries.

The Firm provides an entire package of legal services thereby taking its clients from the very beginning of their business activities through advising on complex cross-border transactions, dealing with any dispute that may arise and handling efficiently all legal aspects of their business needs.

The corporate and commercial field is of ever increasing importance to the law firm. It practises in all related disciplines such as advising clients on the establishment, structure and use of offshore entities and trusts and on how they can be used to organise their international tax planning affairs.

In property, the law firm offers advice on project finance and large scale construction projects, both public and private, undertaken in Cyprus by local and foreign construction companies, as well as on property acquisition and sale on behalf of resident and non resident foreign nationals,as well as registering of ships and aircrafts.

In intellectual property the law firm undertakes registration of trade marks, trade names, design names and patents both in Cyprus as well as in the European Union, as well as litigation concerning the prevention of infringement of copyrights and other intellectual property rights.

Admiralty and shipping as well as aviation and air and space law is also an area in which the law firm is involved, the bulk of the work being cargo and collision claims. The law firm also undertakes on ship and aircraft sale and purchase, finance and registration and maintains excellent links with specialised firms in various parts of the world including the United Kingdom, the Gulf countries, the Emirates and the Middle East. Moreover, the Firm has represented and defended major aircraft manufacturers in serious accident cases and other claims.

Firm Description

XENIOS L. XENOPOULOS: born in Nicosia, Cyprus, on July 10, 1946; admitted to the Cyprus Bar on 22, September, 1972 under Registration No. 817.

EDUCATION: Pancyprian Gymnasium; University of Athens (Faculty of Law), Greece (LL.B.); Post-Graduate Studies at The University College, London in Shipping Law (Marine Insurance, Shipping (Maritime) Law and Carriage of Goods by Sea), and has practised with the Law Firm of INCE & CO in the City of London, The University of Leicester, England, The Center for International and European Policy Law, Thessaloniki, Greece and the Harvard University Extension School.

Mr. Xenopoulos has represented and handled International Corporations in official oil exploration in Bulgaria (Black Sea). He has represented, negotiated and handled International Corporation for the creation and establishment of NGO Land Terminal in Cyprus.
