Clensy is the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Partner of HLB Mauritius which specializes in ‘Finance, Management and Development’. He is a Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (‘ICAEW’) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (‘ACCA’). He also holds an MBA in Global Business Strategy from Oxford University and a degree in ‘Management Information Systems & Computer Science’. Besides, Clensy is a Certified Compliance Manager from the Global Compliance Institute (‘GCI’) of Australia.
Clensy is perfectly fluent in English and French languages, and he combines the qualities of a Business Leader with the rigour of an Auditor and the sharpness of a Tax Expert. He brings leadership and inspiration to HLB Mauritius which operates as a conglomerate with a great variety of services to the business community. He is a key speaker at different International Conferences on finance, tax structuring, ESG and offshore business administration which brings him to different geographies across the globe.
Clensy served as a World Bank expert on the ROSC study for the review, design and implementation of the Accountancy & Audit Profession in Mauritius which has led to the setting of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (‘MIPA’), the Mauritius Institute of Directors (‘MIOD’) and the Financial Reporting Council (‘FRC’). He has also served as the President of Business Mauritius (ex-Mauritius Employers Federation), the local apex body of the private sector. Mauritius is known for its open market economy which is driven essentially by the private sector and Clensy has been a prominent figure in leading the private sector agenda at important times of the country’s economic development.
Moreover, Clensy is a firm proponent of the United Nations ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ (‘SGD’) and through his leadership, HLB Mauritius has joined the UN Global Compact since more than three years now, with a firm commitment to help enterprises phase in their SDG initiatives and climate resilience policies.
Clensy sits on various Boards of Directors and Strategic Committees in both the private and the public sectors. He also devotes a good amount of time to social work and during his leisure time, Clensy enjoys his passion as an artist painting in oil and acrylic.
