Kirkland & Ellis is pleased to announce that Edward Prestwich will join the Firm as a partner in the Investment Funds Group in the London office.
Mr. Prestwich advises investment fund sponsors on the establishment and operation of credit funds, including special situations, distressed, direct lending, liquid and structured credit funds as well as on the establishment of carried interest and co-investment schemes.
“Ed is an incredibly talented funds lawyer with a stellar reputation amongst clients and peers alike,” said Anand Damodaran, an investment funds partner based in London. “His rich experience, particularly in credit fundraises, will further enhance our ability to serve our clients across the gamut of credit fund strategies.”
London-based investment funds partner Christopher Braunack added: “Ed sits at the top of a very small community of senior credit fund specialists in London who are not already at Kirkland. Adding him to our market-leading global and European credit fund practices was an obvious play for us.”
Mr. Prestwich will join Kirkland from the London office of Macfarlanes.
Kirkland’s European investment funds practice has over 20 partners and advises many of Europe’s preeminent investment fund sponsors with respect to their fundraisings, ongoing fund-related matters (including liquidity solutions) and sponsor strategic transactions. The practice is a market leader in each of its core focuses — private equity, credit, real assets and liquidity solutions — and was awarded Private Equity International 2020 Law Firm of the Year for both Fund Formation and Secondaries in Europe.
