International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce its Members have re-elected Virginia Clegg unopposed for a second term as Senior Partner. Virginia will begin her new five-year term on 1 May 2021.

Since taking over as Senior Partner, Virginia has focused DAC Beachcroft’s LLP Group Board on delivering its purpose as an essential source of support and constructive challenge to the Managing Partner and the Executive Board. Under her leadership, the firm has developed and clearly articulated its vision, purpose, and cultural principles, which have proven to be a sure foundation for DACB during the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Virginia has driven forward DACB’s Responsible Business agenda with a much improved corporate responsibility programme and a more determined focus on diversity and inclusion. She also played an integral role in developing DACB’s new brand, launched in 2019, and, employing her Real Estate expertise, was the primary architect of the firm’s move to its new global headquarters at the Walbrook in London.

Virginia said, “I have been honoured to lead DACB through a number of significant developments that have seen us adopt a more corporate approach to decision-making while preserving the key aspects of a limited liability partnership.

“By any measure we have been successful in delivering on our strategic objectives over the last five years. We have seen growth in revenue and profit and growing recognition in the market, demonstrated by our new clients, lateral hires and the increasingly strategic work we are winning.

“There is still much to do and the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic and Brexit loom large. The future will bring even greater challenge and with that real opportunity for our business. I am looking forward to building on the foundations that have been laid during my first term, harnessing the trust and renewed confidence we have engendered with clients and colleagues, to meet the most demanding opportunities and threats.”

Managing Partner David Pollitt said, “Congratulations to Virginia on her re-election. She has worked tirelessly over the last five years, providing strategic vision for DACB coupled with courage in its delivery. Her commitment to our firm is admirable, and I am looking forward to working closely with her during her second term to continue pushing ahead to where we want to be.

DAC Beachcroft is also pleased to announce that partners Ben Daniels, Khurram Shamsee and Ruth Winterbottom have been re-elected, unopposed, to the firm’s LLP Group Board. The three partners will begin their second, three-year terms on 1 November 2020.

Led by DACB’s Senior Partner, Virginia Clegg, the 10-member LLP Group Board is the firm’s senior governing body and is responsible for setting and monitoring the strategic direction of the business.
