The partners of international law firm DAC Beachcroft’s Leeds office have elected Paul Taylor as their new Location Head. Paul, an experienced clinical negligence litigator, takes over from Michael Peeters and will serve a three-year term.
Paul works closely with NHS Resolution (formerly the NHS Litigation Authority), and has been involved in defending claims against the health service since 1995. He specialises in claims for catastrophic injury, including birth injury claims, spinal injuries and high value fatal accidents claims.
DAC Beachcroft’s Leeds office, which is in the iconic St Paul’s House on Park Square, is the firm’s third largest office location, after London and Bristol, and is the home office for over 300 colleagues. It is a full-service office, with lawyers from the firm’s three focus sectors – Insurance, Health and Real Estate – plus its successful Business Advisory practice.
Paul said, “These are, of course, unusual times to take over as head of DACB’s Leeds office, but due to the exceptional hard work and commitment of our colleagues and the efforts of my predecessor, Michael Peeters, we find ourselves in a strong and confident position.
“Given the size of Leeds, and the commercial opportunities this presents, and the access to talent – for both local and national roles – we in the city are key to the next phase of DACB’s strategy.”
DAC Beachcroft’s Senior Partner Virginia Clegg added, “Congratulations to Paul on his appointment as Location Head. Our Leeds office has gone from strength to strength in recent years and Paul has ambitious plans to take the office even further. I look forward to working with him.”
