The new year saw Dr. Christian Schnell, legal counsel duly licensed in Poland (radca prawny) and Germany (Rechtsanwalt), joining Dentons’ Warsaw office. Christian is a partner in Warsaw with the Energy and Natural Resources practice team and also practices in the Munich office.

Christian is an expert who has specialized in energy projects in the CEE and SEE regions for more than 20 years. He advises clients in the area of renewable energy—from both investment and regulatory perspectives — with a particular focus on developers and investors operating in international markets and across multiple jurisdictions.

“This is a very good start to the new year, as much for the Firm as for our most demanding clients,” said Poland Managing Partner Arkadiusz Krasnodębski, who also heads the Energy and Natural Resources team in Poland and Europe.

“Christian and his team join our ever-expanding Energy and Natural Resources practice and will work particularly closely with the Renewable Energy team, headed by Partner Agnieszka Kulinska. This will allow Dentons to better support clients looking for exceptional advisory expertise, cutting-edge knowledge and multi-faceted experience aggregated in one place.”

“Dentons’ Warsaw office is a modern hub, capable of overseeing knowledge transfer and quality control of the services we provide to our clients in this part of the world. Christian’s unique experience, skills and knowledge will help us build a natural bridge, spanning Poland, the rest of Central and Eastern Europe and Germany. We will now be even better able to respond to the aspirations and needs of our customers, especially those from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia, who have a leading role in the development of energy projects in our country and in the CEE region.”

Christian focuses on advising clients on investment development, purchase and sale deals as well as transaction financing, construction and procurement contracts, PPAs and heat supply contracts. He has extensive experience with support systems as well as unsubsidized renewable energy projects, primarily onshore wind and solar projects. He has amassed considerable expertise in energy markets, strategic forecasting and sector integration technologies. Christian also has many years of experience in offshore projects and investments in the thermal power sector.

His clients include equity investors, developers, renewable energy funds, financial institutions, as well as private equity and private debt entities. He is the author of more than 100 articles and other publications on the energy market and regularly advises industry associations, think tanks and government agencies.

Christian Schnell joins Dentons together with his team, including Piotr Dziwniel (counsel), Olga Wasilewska (senior associate) and Ewa Gołąbek (associate).
