The Amsterdam office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is moving to iconic Zuidas development Valley. The office, comprising over 100 professionals, will have an inspiring place to work and meet in their new space spanning over 3,000 square meters in Valley. The building, owned by the RJB Group of Companies and developed by EDGE, nears its delivery date in the coming quarter.

Greenberg Traurig expects to move to Valley’s South tower at the end of the first quarter of 2022. The space will offer the new tenant a stunning outlook on the atrium and direct access to the public space of the building. Greenberg Traurig Amsterdam has grown substantially in recent years. With the arrival of a number of new shareholders and teams, the office has expanded considerably.

“We simply outgrew our space,” said Cees van Oevelen, co-managing shareholder at Greenberg Traurig Amsterdam. “But you don’t just leave downtown Amsterdam. We were looking for an office location that would feel at least as good. A place that innovates and inspires.”

Green oasis
Valley’s design offers with a mix of flats, offices, retailers and culture. The eye-catching “hanging gardens” provide a green oasis amid the concrete on the Zuidas. Greenberg Traurig will occupy the third and fourth floors of the South Tower.

“We are already looking forward to working and meeting with our clients in our new office; to getting it done together, in a building where everything comes together. It is with some nostalgia that we leave the iconic Hirsch building on Leidseplein. Valley is also likely to become a landmark,” said Thomas van der Vliet, co-managing shareholder at Greenberg Traurig Amsterdam.

“The Hirsch building is a fantastic building in a wonderful location in Amsterdam. For me personally, the Zuidas also feels a bit like coming home,” said David van Dijk, firm shareholder and head of its Dutch Real Estate group.

“The quality and reputation of Greenberg Traurig fits exactly into the tenant profile and we look forward to a long-term business relationship,” noted the RJB Group in a statement.

Greenberg Traurig was legally advised in this transaction by Rels Consultancy and commercially by Van Gool Elburg Real Estate Specialists. The furnishing of the new office will be provided by iL Office. RJB Group of Companies and EDGE have been assisted in this transaction commercially by CBRE and Hangos Real Estate and legally by Loyens & Loeff and DLA Piper.
