Hogan Lovells has today announced that high-profile lawyer Charlie Clayton-Payne has re-joined the transatlantic firm as a partner in its Corporate & Finance practice, based in its Singapore office.

He joins from Harneys in Hong Kong but was previously based in Hogan Lovells’ Singapore office (until 27 February 2019) where he was central to the establishment of the banking team. During his time with Hogan Lovells, Charlie also undertook a year-long secondment at Standard Chartered Bank working with the loan structuring and syndication teams.

Charlie is an international finance specialist with a wealth of experience across industry sectors and geographies in the Asia Pacific region. He currently advises borrowers and financial institutions on a wide variety of structures, including cross-border sponsor-backed acquisition financings, capital call facilities, syndicated secured lending, structured lending, leveraged finance, and debt restructurings.

Matthew Cottis, Finance Managing partner, said: “I am hugely delighted to welcome Charlie back to the firm. He is a very well-known and popular figure in the Singapore legal and banking worlds and adds more depth to Hogan Lovells’ strong Corporate & Finance practice group in the city.”

Charlie Clayton-Payne said: “I am thrilled to have re-joined the firm and look forward to working closely with its extensive and cohesive network of multinational offices on a range of local and international leveraged financings, restructurings and other financial transactions.”
