The firm is lead by Lim Wei Jiet, an experienced trial & appellate lawyer with more than 25 reported judgments. He has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Malaysian Courts, and is versed in arbitration proceedings.
Recently, Wei Jiet was named “Young Lawyer of the Year” at Thomson Reuters’ Asian Legal Business Malaysian Law Awards 2022, which acknowledges a practitioner aged 40 & below for his/her “remarkable achievements in the legal profession and the larger community as well”.
A versatile advocate, Wei Jiet’s court craft spans across commercial contracts, corporate disputes, employment, intellectual property, professional negligence, defamation & land law. Wei Jiet is particularly adept in public law litigation, having led many landmark suits against government bodies to protect the fundamental rights & economic interests of clients. He also advises corporations on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) compliance, having in-depth knowledge on climate change targets, corporate governance & human rights.
Over the years, Wei Jiet has been entrusted to act for State Governments, ex-Cabinet Ministers, MNCs, United Nations agencies & the world’s leading NGOs – and is hence no stranger to diverse forms of high-stakes & complex disputes. In 2019, he was appointed by the Attorney General to present the Federal Government’s case in the country’s first Constitutional Tribunal established to advise the King on the removal of Election Commissioners for misconduct.
Wei Jiet currently serves as Malaysia’s National Representative to the International Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Committee (IBA-YLC).
