Global law firm Shearman & Sterling today announces that Phil Cheveley is joining the firm as a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) partner in London.
Phil brings wide-ranging experience in domestic and cross-border public company takeovers, private mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions. Phil’s practice also has strong synergies with Shearman & Sterling’s equity capital markets offering and the continued growth of its restructuring capabilities.

Alongside Laurence Levy, Phil will also be Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, EMEA. Phil’s appointment is the 8th lateral hire for Shearman & Sterling this year, including Financial Restructuring & Insolvency partner Mark Shapiro rejoining the firm in New York.
