Ron Zilka is a seasoned tax specialist and Shareholder at SDK, a respected Minneapolis-based accounting and advisory firm serving businesses across a range of industries. He brings deep technical expertise, practical tax insight, and a client-centered approach to supporting organizations through complex tax, compliance, and growth challenges.
Ron’s experience includes multi-state and multi-entity tax compliance, state and local tax (SALT) planning, IRS dispute management, and tax support for mergers and acquisitions. He also collaborates with SDK’s broader service teams, including the firm’s Forensic Accounting and Valuation Services group, to help clients evaluate business value, support transaction planning, and address complex financial matters that require specialized analysis.
Ron is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Master of Science in Taxation (MST). He maintains active professional involvement through membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA).
Beyond his professional practice, Ron contributes to the broader business community. He serves as Co-Chair of Government Affairs for the North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the US-China Business Connection (UCBC). His leadership roles reflect a commitment to local business growth and international commercial engagement.
A former U.S. Marine, Ron applies the discipline and integrity from his military service to every client engagement. Outside of work, he enjoys offshore fishing, attending sporting events, and cheering on his favorite teams.
