Sean brings a wealth of experience in local and state government, and real estate development to his legal practice. His practice concentrates on land use, zoning, regulatory representation in administrative law and litigation.
Prior to joining Allcock & Marcus, Sean worked with a prominent Boston firm specializing in land use, zoning, permitting and licensing. With his unique experience and skillset, Sean worked with clients big and small to expedite regulatory matters, resolve complex issues and earn favorable decisions before City of Boston Boards and Commissions. As Director of University Relations for the President’s Office of the University of Massachusetts and its Building Authority, Sean oversaw public outreach and government relations for large-scale real estate projects throughout the state, including the Bayside Property in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, now marketed as Dorchester Bay City.
Early in his career,Sean also served in the administrations of Boston Mayors Thomas M. Menino and Martin J. Walsh in multiple positions, with responsibilities including community relations, and administration of public services. As the Mayor’s South Boston neighborhood liaison for zoning and licensing matters, Sean oversaw their required public processes, and worked with developers, community and business leaders to ensure stakeholder participation and compliance.
A fifth generation Bostonian, Sean’s personal ties to the city of Boston run deep, particularly in the community of South Boston that raised him. Growing up in Boston instilled a resilience and tenacity in Sean that he also brings to his representation of clients in his legal practice.
Sean graduated magna cum laude and received his JD from New England School of Law Boston and his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During his time at NESL, Sean worked as a Research Associate for the Handbook of Massachusetts Law of Land Use and Planning Law by Attorney Mark Bobrowski. Additionally, Sean was elected to the Board of Commissioners for the Swampscott Housing and is a co-founder of the South Boston Leadership Initiative.
