Sezin has been leading Competition/Antitrust lawyer.
Based on 22 years of dedicated Turkish competition law experience, Sezin guides clients through competition law aspects of mergers and acquisitions, counsels them on antitrust compliance matters, and helps them navigate preliminary investigations, investigations and other proceedings before the Turkish Competition Authority.
She develops optimum transaction structures in terms of compliance with merger control rules, conducts the jurisdictional analysis of merger filing requirements and advises competition-law issues as part of legal due diligence as well as remedies and multijurisdictional considerations. She regularly represents merging parties before the Turkish Competition Authority.
Sezin provides “sector-specific” advice to clients active in a variety of sectors, on managing risk resulting from antitrust rules on their day-to day operations; designing and implementing competition compliance programmes, and delivering tailored competition law trainings/ workshops to board members and other executives.
During her time at the Turkish Competition Authority as a senior case handler, she managed investigations, led on the spot inspection (dawn raid) teams, and performed numerous M&A and exemption/negative clearance assessments as well as privatization cases, in particular in banking, insurance, tourism, education, land air and sea transportation, ports and pharma sectors.
Sezin has long been regarded as a highly regarded competition counsel in Turkey by legal directories including Global Competition Review (GCR), Chambers&Partners and Legal 500. She has also received the exclusive Client Choice Award for Turkey Competition for the past two years and also recognized by Who is Who Legal.
