TLT has continued the recent expansion of its UK projects, infrastructure and construction (PIC) team with the appointment of transactional construction expert Jahanara Hussain as partner.
The strategic appointment deepens the firm’s capabilities in construction and engineering, adding critical transactional expertise to its full service team and supporting the firm’s key priority sectors, including real estate, retail & consumer goods, leisure, food & drink and public sector.
Jahanara, who joins TLT from BLM Law and has also worked at Eversheds, Halliwells and Gateley, will work alongside Sean McCay, head of construction in Manchester, as part of the national team. The announcement follows the appointment of Stacey Cassidy as construction partner in Glasgow in April 2020.
Jahanara brings twenty years’ experience to TLT, having worked on numerous major infrastructure, development and engineering projects across the UK and overseas. She has advised on complex projects in higher education, residential, retail, network distribution centres and various local infrastructure fund projects.
She advises private and public sector clients including developers, contractors, consultants, funders, end users, local authorities and private individuals, and is bringing active projects to TLT.
Simon Goss, head of projects, infrastructure and construction at TLT, says: “This growth momentum is the result of a clear strategy to expand our construction and infrastructure capabilities across the UK and deepen our already comprehensive offering for clients. This is critical to the firm’s overall growth strategy and we are delighted to have attracted such talented lawyers as Jahanara, Stacey and Sean in the last year.
“We see immediate opportunities to support our clients with their growth plans and construction and infrastructure requirements in the coming months and are excited to build on our growth in recent years.”
Jahanara Hussain, partner at TLT, says: “I am delighted to be joining the strong and ambitious team at TLT. The firm has incredible strength in depth across its practice areas, which makes it a unique proposition in construction and I am excited to be bringing that to our clients. The firm has been going from strength to strength and I am looking forward to playing a key role in our future growth.”
