Our Senior Partner, Ms Ella Cheong, is honored to have been invited to contribute in the China chapter to International Franchising, Second Edition (Release 10, 2021). International Franchising, published by Juris Publishing Inc, provides a guide on franchising law and practice in over 36 countries including North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

The China chapter looks into the current state of franchising and challenges of franchising business in the country, and outlines the legal and regulatory framework for franchising under the Chinese law. The chapter explores the statutory requirements for the contents of franchising contracts, the monitoring systems governing the behaviors of franchisor and franchisee, the legal burden of proof in franchising disputes and the potential liabilities for non-compliance.
