Walter Pöschl (44) – recently described as “clearly gaining presence” by the renowned legal publishing house JUVE – joins the employment team of the international law firm Taylor Wessing as a partner as of 15 September 2020. In addition to CEE Head Wolfgang Kapek and Brigitte Sammer, he is the third partner with a focus on employment law and is one of several recent lateral hires in the Vienna office.
Wolfgang Kapek on the expansion: “Even before Corona, we at Taylor Wessing had already observed an increasing demand for advice in labour law, especially in litigation. This trend was further strengthened by Corona. It was therefore a logical step for us to bring Walter Pöschl, a very experienced expert, on board.”
Vienna and Klagenfurt
At Taylor Wessing, Walter Pöschl will work in all areas of employment law and will contribute his know-how in special areas such as remuneration systems in banks or social security law. He is looking forward to his new task: “I think it is great to be able to continue my professional career as a partner in a law firm whose main focus is on labour law – also on an international level”. He will benefit from his many years of experience in representing and advising international clients.
Walter Pöschl continues: “I am particularly looking forward to making use of my network in my home town as a native of Klagenfurt”. Stationed in Vienna and in Klagenfurt, which is the centre of Carinthia in southern Austria bordering Italy and Slovenia, he will also partly operate from the Klagenfurt office of the firm and expand it.
Walter Pöschl gained his almost 20 years of experience in employment law in two of the largest Austrian law firms as an associate and later as a lawyer, senior associate and counsel. He started his career as a consultant for labour and social law at the Styrian Chamber of Commerce. His additional qualification in the field of adult education has always made him a sought-after speaker and head of trainings and courses in labour law.
