I was delighted to attend the Legal Business 2023 Corporate and M&A Summit in London today.

Key takeaways for me were:

– Larger M&A is being significantly impacted, but the M&A market for deals up to £100m is proving more resilient.
– AI tools are gaining ever more traction in the management of large contract data sets.
– W&I insurance is covering a broader set of risks, and take up by corporates (as opposed to PE) buyers is growing.
– More expensive financing is not impacting all sectors in the same way, with infrastructure being cited as an example of a sector where financing is still available on attractive terms.
– The US Inflation Reduction Act, and on shoring of supply chains, will be a major theme going forward.

An interesting event with some good speakers and attendees.
